The Winners of the 19th Discovery Pop Music Festival edition are the composer Rolf Roosalu from Estonia and the singer Alina Eremia from Romania. The song “Memory” written by Roosalu was chosen for best song in the International best song contest this year.
In the competition took place 19 performers and songs from 17 countries.
The festival audience had the chance to enjoy the phenomenal voice of Matia Bazar ex vocal Silvia Mezzanotte. She performed “The dance of Rossinka” on the stage with Tonika & Ivelina Rossenov and Children Shhlagger Studio YES. Both girls won the prize of the audience at the Golden Coin 2009 song Contest in Bologna.
In the recitals took part also Deep Zone Project, Mira Awad from Israel, Inna Afanassieva (Belarus), Petya Buyuklieva, Ivan & Stani and others.
This year for the first time was awarded a WAFA (World Association of Festivals and Artists) prize. The prize for most perspective performer went to Rovshan Dzhivishov from Azerbaidzan.

Silvia Mezzanotte, Ex-vocal of the cult Italian Band Matia Bazar, will sing in May in Varna at the Dsicovery International Pop Music Festival. The Italian star will arrive in the sea capital to perform her latest hits for the Bulgarian Audience. Silvia Mezzanotte starts her star career on the Sanremo stage, where she participated in the Young Talents section. Later, this time as a part of Matia Bazar she wons two third prices and in 2002 they are the absolutely winner with the song Messaggio d'amore. In 2005 the Italian star began a solo career, she recorded two hit singles and the next year her first album has been released. Silvia Mezzanotte had many tours in Italy and East Europe, only in 2006 she has over 50 concerts before Italian audience. For her first duet she chose Massimo Ranieri with his famous song Perdere l'amore. In 2007 she participated as guest star in musical reality shows in Italy. In Bulgarian the Italian will perform famous songs by Matia Bazar and her new album that includes songs, written by Franco Battiato and Raf.

The Israeli TV & Jazz star Mira Awad will arrive in Bulgaria as guest star of the 19th Discovery International Pop Music Festival that will take place on 15th and 16th May in Varna. Mira is born in Northern Israel in a family of Palestinian father and Bulgarian mother. She graduated the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Tel Aviv. She’s popular as actress in “Arab Work” and “Noa’s Arch”, takes part in plays in the Hakameri Theater in the capital city. She played in the movie “The Bubble” and recorded the theme songs of the movies “Forgiveness” and “Lemon Tree”. In 2007 Mira represented Israel at the Eurovision contest in Helsinki in a duet with another pop star Noa. She recorded a duet with the Greek legend George Dalaras. Her attendance at Discovery is assured by the Culture Attache of the Israeli Embassy in Bulgaria. She will perform in Varna her hits and also new songs from her album “Bahlawan”. After her participation in Bulgaria Mira will continue her European Tour with concerts in Spain.
