Alexander Plato, Armenia

Alexander Plato (born 23.11.1983 in Yerevan, Armenia) is a singer from Armenia. His vocal talent appeared since he started to study in a professional musical school after K. Saradjev, at the class of piano, combining it with singing in two choirs at the same time and performing on different big and small stages all over the country. Later Alexander entered the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology of the Yerevan State University (YSU), did MA studies in Pychology of Partnership at the Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. But his passion towards the music never gave up: since 2006 he has been doing Artist Management of prominent classical musician, such as Hayk Melikyan, pianist, Honorary Artist of the Republic of Armenia and Varduhi Khachatryan, mezzo, laureatte of many international competitions. And starting from 2013, Alexander has been taking professional singing courses at the Cantus Producing Center with Zara Petrosyan.

Having a tremendous sense of integrity and being unwilling to compromise singing ability for management and vice-versa, Alexander has been combining his work as the Head of the Marketing Division at Araximbank-Gazprombank Group, his lectures on “Career Psychology” as a professor at the General Psychology Chair of YSU and singing. In one word, singing has a vital meaning for Alexander both in terms of self-realization and expression of his love towards the public and stage.

Alexander is interested in many musical genres, among his favorites are Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Beth Hart. He is also keen on the Contemporary Music and loves the art of Galina Ustvolskaya, John Cage and Alfred Schnittke.
